Her cheeks of crimson, the flat setting clouds,
Blushing, speckled, light, and high,
Always flush with a hint of feeling,
Gently drift across the sky.
Her smile of laughter, a luminous sun,
A star glowing fainter as it approaches the earth,
A warmth full of radiance, a warmth so benign,
Light of renewal, a beam of rebirth.
Her dark arcane eyes, the tranquil sea’s waters,
Windows to the roaring billows of deep,
Cloudy yet lucid, for can they be true,
To all that I cherish, care for, and keep?
Clouds have now faded, a heartening sun has set,
The waves are stormy across the night sea,
I loved the sunset and all of its warmth,
Yet the intangible sunset did not love me.
